Carol is a multidisciplinary artist studying art education at Concordia University; performance, dance, pop science, music, philosophy, and drama inspire and inform her painting practice. Animal figures act as the subjects of her paintings, drawn from personal experience as well as from popular culture, acting as an exploration of a primal closeness to the wilderness, a closeness that still exists despite dualities the human species creates between itself and “nature.” Familiar animals are juxtaposed with sexual, savage imagery that challenge the viewer's conception of good and evil, exploring the delicate relationship between man and animal. She paints intuitively and attempts to pay homage to the early humans who first created art. Her work has been exhibited in Montreal, Quebec. As an art educator, she has worked with several educational programs in Montreal.
